Sought after as an educator, Matthew has held teaching positions at Universities and Colleges in Australia, New Zealand and England, and given masterclasses on four continents, including at the Conservatorio Nacional de Mexico, the Gnessin Academy Moscow, the Mannes College New York, Queensland Conservatorium Australia and at Festivals and Summer Schools in Europe, Asia, USA and throughout Australasia.

Matthew is currently Professor of Music and Head of IDEAschool at the Eastern Institute of Technology, Napier, New Zealand where he oversees the disciplines of music, visual art, design, fashion and screen production. Previously he was Professor of Music at Southern Cross University Australia, where he taught music theory, musicianship and guitar ensemble and oversaw the postgraduate Honours programmes.

Matthew also offers private tuition on the classical guitar and can tailor a learning package to suit your individual needs and aspirations. Lessons can be done in person or online via Skype or Zoom.

Matthew Marshall has been a member of the European Guitar Teachers Association (UK) since 2016.
